Where Young Delegates Tackle Global Challenges: 58ºÚÁÏÍø,ÌýModel United Nations 2026

This year's 58ºÚÁÏÍø Model United Nations event is fast approaching. InÌýFebruary, students from these five Orbital schools will gather in Budapest, Hungary, for this well-loved event.Ìý

Ìý

The outstanding two-day eventÌýoffers a dynamic platform for young people to engage in diplomatic debate, collaboration, and problem-solving on some of the world’s most pressing issues.

As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering global awareness and leadership skills, the eventÌýwill simulate the workings of the real United Nations. As such, delegates will assume the roles of country representatives, drafting resolutions and negotiating policy responses to shared global challenges. Below, we have outlined the five impactfulÌýglobal challenges that will beÌýdiscussed this year:Ìý

World Hunger: Delegates will look at the root causes of food insecurity, including conflict, climate change, and economic inequality, and propose strategies to improve access and distribution.

  • Animal Poaching: With biodiversity under threat worldwide, discussions will explore ways to protect endangered species through enforcement, conservation policy, and community engagement.

  • Access to Natural Resources: Students will examine how nations can fairly manage competition for water, energy, and minerals while addressing environmental pressures and geopolitical tensions.

  • Religion & Politics: Delegates will consider the complex interplay between belief systems and governance, including human rights, secularism, and the role of faith in peacebuilding.

  • Sustainable Population Growth: Conversation will focus on how countries can plan for demographic change while ensuring equitable healthcare, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship.

By creating this space for youth diplomacy and thoughtful discussion, we're proud to play a part inÌýempowering the next generation of global citizens -Ìýequipping them to think critically about the world's current affairs, and to work together toward sustainable and consideredÌýsolutions.

We look forward to bringing you a full write-up of the event, including the student press team's summary after the event has taken place. In the meantime, you can learn more about collaborations between Orbital schools on our School Collaborations webpage.
